The cell phone is always searching for a signal. As long as it is turned on, it is emitting a signal. If you are indoors, or in a rural area, it is trying harder to find a signal, so it is in fact even more dangerous. Find a new place to carry it! Any ideas? (I don't want you to lose it. Then you will be so mad at me!)

Hi, I always thought that when cel phones are not being used (i.e. not transmitting a conversation, text message, etc.) that they are not giving off any sort of electrical waves. That they are in fact just a passive receptor, and thus would not represent any threat to have close to the body for long periods... If I am wrong, I would certainly like to know as I carry mine in my front pocket close to the prostate and other body stuff! Can you clarify?
